Cabin Fever Checklist

Its cold out there my peeps!

A bit too cold for making snowmen and building an igloo.

But FEAR NOT my little wombats! I have your cabin fever checklist.

Sure to squander any left over feelings of boredom, claustrophobic-ness, and irritability

 Let's get started!

1) Make your most awesomest hot chocolate concoction ever know to mankind!
This isnt your standard H.C. this is Frozen Tundra H.C. Think: pop rocks, popcorn, chocolate, mini marshmallows  sprinkles, whipped cream, and any other wild and crazy H.C. mix-in's you can think of!

2) Get suited up!
Its cold out there! Make sure you have the right gear on!
Get your fuzziest, warmest, most favorite pj's on coordinated
with the your most comfortable hoody!

3) Bunker down and build a shelter.
Get your kitchen chairs, benches and all the pillows and blankets you can find and set up camp and wait this cold freeze out!

4) Play a board game.
Your thinkin:"Who plays board games anymore?" Well in a Minnesota deep freeze we do. But its a bit different , in a deep freeze we play them ALL AT ONCE.
Now, you can set them all up and play each game separately AT THE SAME TIME OR you can combine the game boards and pieces and make up your own new game!

5) Have a snack.
Ice cream sounds good right about now doesn't it?
Just like a true Minnesotan....

6) Movie Time!!
What was your favorite movie when you were seven?
That's what were watching!
Let the eye rolls and giggles begin!

7) Make a Collage
Remember the last time you did that?! Crazy it was like fifth grade, right?
Time to make some memories. Use photo's, magazine cut outs, WORD ART,
doodles, and any other crafty supply you have. Don't forget a title for your newest work of art!

8) Grilled Cheese Time!!
Nothing is better on a cold day than a ooey gooey grilled cheese sandwich.

9) Scavenger Hunt Time!
Time yourself see if you can beat your own best score. Try it backwards.
Find: a toothbrush, light bulb, dog toy, dirty sock, loofa, empty/near empty shampoo bottle, snow flake, stuffed dolphin, slipper, shoe lace, bowling ball, maple tree, coffee cup with a face on it, fork with bent prong, brown sugar, laundry soap, shovel, small child, squeeky chair, cream of tarter.

Last but least:

10) Random Picture Contest.
Take ten random pictures.
Send them to your friends.
See who guesses the most right.

Reward them with a visit from YOU and do the list all over again!!!

Who are you?

Interestingly enough SOME PEOPLE just want to JUDGE.

Hats of to those people. I hope you feel better and can sleep at night.

I hate it when others who dont know a thing about another person
or anything in that persons life feel "obligated" to "speak their mind."

Well its my turn.

SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!

To all those out there that:

Can't find happiness in their own life and have to meddle in other peoples lives

Dont know who they are or what they want to become as a person

Are living in the past

Point out other peoples faults to make themselves feel good about themselves

Don't understand so they place blame

Hurt others because they can

Want what they cant have

Say/do something that cant be taken back/undone and expect others to forgive/forget.

Are unapologetic

This is for all those people.

Who are you to tell me who I am?
(I dont want to hear it ANYMORE.)
Who are you to tell me who I should be?
(My life is not up for discussion.)
What gives you the right?
(your "obligation" is to yourself not me and your not fooling anyone.)
What makes you think you know whats best for me?
(Nevermind, I dont care what you think.)

Get your life together before you take it upon yourself to "fix" other peoples lives.
Figure out who you are before you judge other peoples character.
Think before you speak.
Words cannot be unsaid.
Actions cannot be undone.

Friends are the Best!

They show up unexpectedly. Ready for fun!

They encourage you to exercise, very subtle like.

They do things for your that are outside their bubble of normal.

They kiss your boo-boo's

Their confidence is your confidence.

They always make sure you have a good time when your together.

They let you know when you need to rest up a bit and take it easy.

They let you know that no matter how awkward you are,
they are more awkward then you'll ever be.

They listen. Even when their tired.

They Laugh at you when you fall on your butt.

They Love you unconditionally.

And finally:
They let you be your fabulous self!

I love you my peeps.
Thanks for loving me back.

Old People Are People TOO!

Try not cry.

I dare you.

Crabby Old Man

What do you see nurses? ...What do you see?
What are you thinking.....when you're looking at me?
A crabby old man, ...not very wise,
Uncertain of habit ........with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food.......and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice....."I do wish you'd  try!"
Who seems not to notice ...the things that you do.
And forever is losing .......... A sock or shoe?

Who, resisting or not...........lets you do as you  will,
With bathing and feeding ... The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking?   Is that what you  see?
Then open your eyes, nurse. .....you're not looking at  me.

I'll tell you who I am .......... As I sit here so  still,
As I do at your bidding, ....as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten.......with a father and  mother,
Brothers and sisters .........who love one another

A young boy of Sixteen ..with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now. a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty ......my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows......that I promised to keep.

At Twenty-Five, now .......... I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide .... And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty ......... My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other ........ With ties that should  last.

At Forty, my young sons ...have grown and are gone,
But my woman's beside me.......to see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, ........ Babies play 'round my  knee,
Again, we know children ....... My loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me ............. .. My wife is now  dead.
I look at the future ...............I shudder with  dread.
For my young are all rearing......young of their own.
And I think of the years....... And the love that I've  known.

I'm now an old man.........and nature is cruel.
Tis jest to make old age ......look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles..........grace and vigor,  depart.
There is now a stone........where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass ...... A young guy still  dwells,
And now and again ......my battered heart swells
I remember the joys........... I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living.............life over again.

I think of the years ..all too few......gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact........that nothing can  last.
So open your eyes, people .........open and see..
Not a crabby old man.  Look  closer....see........ME!!

Seriously, have you hugged an old person today?

Things I Learned in Alabama

Hello peeps!! Knowledge is key and i have some more for you!
This time from the great state of Alabama!!!

Im always willing to share my wisdom with the ones i love! :)

First off....hotels are over-rated!

Part of our room...
The sun (sons) room
The study
The stairwell.
The south has rolling hills! Beautiful Green Hills!
(i never knew!)
If you bring friends along your sure to have a good time!
You can grow your own banana trees in your front yard!
They have plenty of foliage
Gas is way...way cheaper.
They dont need fancy houses to live in.
They have HUGE spiders.
They are witty and funny people.
They have cute dogs!!

:)

They are not afraid to share a bathroom

They grow their own bamboo.
They have pet cows.

They have fun coffee cups to make up for the lack of coffee shops!
It reads: Decaf? No thanks ill sleep when im dead.

I hope you enjoyed visiting Alabama with me today!

If you ever have the chance to visit yourself push it to the top of your list of places to visit.
I promise you wont be disappointed.

Things I learned in Seattle...

While away on my brief adventure to Seattle for a wedding, not a vacation. (just so were clear on that.) I learned a few things.....and I would like to take this opportunity to share this wisdom with all of you.

Hooray! (right?)

The prices are RIDICULOUSNESS!!!

Their decorations are great conversation starters.

I could never make pancakes this GOOD!!!

Additional knowledge (that i coudnt photograph) :

- Weddings are better when you dont know any of the planning details

-I will never remarry

-You should iron in nice comfy shoes. or not at all.

-coffee is still my motivator

-little kids need routine. and naps.

-hotel beds are not made for sleeping.
(they put them in there for decoration or to take up space
because real live people DO NOT sleep on those things!!! OUCH!!!)

-extra communication is needed when you are with the in-laws.
(regardless of what you communicated before you visited)

-you can't never have enough wine. Unless its on an empty stomach.

-never take trips during the school year.
the homework they send with you is EXHAUSTING!!!

-i still hate flying.

-Expect the worst. and then plan for disaster.

-no amount of miles can separate you from true friends.

-there is no place like home.

Thats my shared wisdom for the day my peeps!

Check back later in the week and ill share with you my wisdom from Alabama!!!

most of the time.
Not to anyone in particular.
I just dont always think before i speak.
Prime examples, right here.

"Im married to a man that cant be tied down with a plan"

"Apparently shoes are just huge chunks of random things with tiny string to hold them on your feet"

To myself in the car: "What do i have done? Nothing. I know. Im starting to panic. PANIC!!"

"Tate. Who is Tate? I wanna be like Tate. Tate kinda scares me."

"Nothing makes you feel old like getting a swivel chair with wheels stuck on the carpet and not being able to move"

"IT EXPLODED!!!"

"You better not pee on my couch. I draw the line at friends peeing on my couch."

"Break me off a piece of that!"  (referring to chicken tenders..)

"Im so tired I don't want to be comforting"

"Yea, I'm just taller than I thought."

"That deserves a little jiggle wiggle"

" Everyone tells you: 'think outside the box' and im like what box? i dont see a box?"

"i have a problem with cheese"

"Hello Mr. Bee. I dont have anything for you. I know i look like a flower, but im not."

"KALE! What am I suppose to do with kale?!!!"

"TURDS!!!?? There are turds all around ME!!!"

"This may be my new favorite side dish."

"Holy POOP SCOOP!"

"Thank Goodness for LEVON!!!"

"That's what happens. Sometime you fall out of trees."

"Oh my word! Shes like a mini stalker!!"

"I look like Marsha from the Brady Bunch."

"I didnt really think this outfit through. I look old, and it DOESNT MATCH!"

"Frumpy. That is the word i would use to describe my look."

" I dont want to mow over any people.I want to mow over some FENCES!"

"See what page im on today? The wrong page."

"Im not crabby, i just dont want to be here."

"She's friends with the devil"

"You guys are so married. Its ridiculous."

"I think something happened. Like i was typing and i hit my head on the keyboard."

"I cant hold back. I HAVE SO MUCH MUSIC IN ME!!!!!!"

"Its like trying to be a love song but its dumb"

"Make sure you dont touch the walls, ok? There all sweaty"

"Its got its own Executive Suite."

"Thats not a love song! Thats a break up song!!!"

"I dont worry about that anymore. Im living the dream right here!"

"I wish you would be by me."

"Only I can get a paper cut from a cardboard box."

"The man in mirror scares me."
